What do members do?

     We offer  weekly events for both our low vision and full visioin  members. That might be shopping and lunch in St. Augustine  or a movie night.  Members however, might also offer an event of their liking.  For instance, a  member might want to coordinate a hike or a concert. Young adults may want to schedule a monthly  field trip  or weekly evening out. The possibilies  are endless. We may also have zoom meetings and our UTUBE channel will be available soon after launch.

       This is where members  get to meet each other and plan evens or join a team. Members also have the opportunity to offer an audible book club or start a travel club etc. Monthly meetings are where both low viision and full vision adults low vision might join one of our teams.  For example, a member  mi9ht want to be on the team that researchs new products and gadgets. Another member might prefer to be on the social team to plan refreshments for our meetings and coordinate something like a pizza and movie evening.  

    We can do whatever we imagine...together,whether we see well or not. St, Augustine rocks as our first chpater's home.                           

        St. Raphael Connections does not yet provide trransportation to our low vision adults.  So, how do we meet up for meetings and events in St. Augustine?. We  do offer the opportunity perhaps to meet people  going your way.  Whether we share an uber or a bus ride, or a new firend wants to drive, we will all learn the ins and outs of public trasnportation and private rides.

Of course our long term plan is to have our own transportatoin, but we are not there not yet.  Dream Big!

   Links to pphysician websites that explain your eye disease and treatments will be provided along with links to the NIH (National Institute of Health) for recent research.  Guest speakers will be offered when available. 

      Here too the possibiities are endless.  How does an annual volunteer appreciation dinner sound?  How about a vendor show  for a fund raissr?  How about a 4th of July barbecue , a Christmas day gathering or a Christmas party? 

       We can do it if we do it together/

Volunteering is a waterfall of generosity.  At St. Raphael Connections there will be many opportunities to volunteer. All members will be volunteers to help each other and belong to one or any teams they choose.  All events need volunteers to  coordinate and effect them.  Opportunities  will also be available for  friends and family who are not experiencing vision loss but want to join us Iin our mission as SRC menbers.     

 MENTORSHIP  opportunities will be offered to bring new members up to speed on all of our activites.   

Membership benefits include access to all events and meetings. Members   will have exclusive access to our faceboook page which will have reports of all our guest speakers and planned events. 

Membership Fee is $12.50 per month or $120.00 per year.  Coming soon: membership fee can be paid here. Checks can be mailed to  4255 US Hwy 1S #346. St Augustine, Florida 32086.  Membership will be required after attending two conseueitive meetings. 100% of membership fees and donations wil 

be used exclusively ofr the mission of SRC.  There are no paid positions at SRC,
