About Our Name

•                Even if angels arenot in your belief system, St. Raphael the Archangel is a great symbol of what we  hope to accomplish.   

  The Archangel is known in the Old Testament, or in the  Heebrew Literature. 

•                  In 1 Enoch, Raphael is translated as   "God heals". 

In the Book of Tobit, Rapahel the Archangel heals blindness, helps Tobias navigate through  the difficulties and miracles of his journey to and from Ninevah. Because of his journey with Tobias  it is easy to believe that this archangel is the perfect patron of our communitty.  

•               Early Christian exigesis identifies this  archangel as one of the three visitors to Abraham at the Oak of Mamre. St. Raphael was also understood  as  the angel who stirred the waters at the healing Pool of Bethesda/

•        Islam believes the Archangel is the unnamed angel in the

             Koran 6:73.                                        

 St. Raphael  the Archangel seems  the perfect patron. and guide through this valley of vision loss. 

•   God healed blindness through this angel and brought Tobias safely to connect with hisi bride.
